The fish you never wanted

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I bought some fish at the LFS and the guy threw in a Butti for like $2. I didn't know what it was when I got it and didn't really like it (b@$tard practically killed all my other fish). About four months ago I was sick of taking care of fish and I was going to just get rid of them all, but I couldn't get rid of my Butti!! I ended up buying a 150 gallon just for him and now he's huge and I'm really glad I didn't give up this hobby.

oscars. never wanted one. now i have 2 :duh:

I HATE discus. Now I have not bought any yet but a few weeks ago I was in the LFS and there was a pure black discus juvi and I thought it was the coolest things and since then I have thought about setting up a discus tank

My two common plecs.
Grandmother gave them to me because I have a "GIGANTIC 55 GALLON!"
I hate them.
They poop so much, and are just boring.
My mom seems to love them though, and wont let me give them away. :nilly:

I never wanted to get a firemouth for my SA/CA tank. But my brother in law had one that was getting beat to hell in his tank so he gave it to me. well at first i hated him because he beat the hell outta my fish. since then he has calmed down with only spurts of aggression and is one of the more active fish in my tank. still not my favorite but a good addition none the less.

Most of the fish I have right now, I've always wanted just never had until recently. Considering how common oscars are, I'm a little surprised I waited over 13 years to get my first one, but I'm really glad I did. He ate from my hand the first day in the tank, and even got my sev out and about instead of hiding.

I can't really think of a fish (well, other than some of the freakish hybrids and dyed/mutilated varieties) I really wouldn't want to keep

I have to say Poly's. Allway's have hated them. But i broke down and bought a PBB. And to be honest i still hate them the BB is long gone. lol I've had the best and they just do nothing for me. Never will, i guess to each there own.

Hmmm...Never really liked oscars, i always figured they were a bass type of fish that just **** and eat. BUt then i got a red oscar i named Simba, hes now almost half a year owned and i even like him more than my two pikes. Amazing fish, smart as all hell.

Pacu for me.

Wife wanted one cause it was cute, I tried to warn her of what it would become for size.

Now I am building a 300 gallon for the dumb thing.
