The fish you never wanted

never wanted sa/ca chichlids and now i have a breeding pair of jags and a jack dempsy, and i have grown very fond of them. Those jags are some smart fish.

I never saw the appeal in cories, bettas, or goldfish. Now I own all of them and love them. Believe it or not, I used to think Severums were nothing special, and now.....well look at my avetar, lol.

OK is there a fish that you swore you would never own but ended up owning and its now one of your favorite fish?

For whatever reason I never liked clown loaches. Not sure why I just did and anytime someone would say "Dude. You should get some loaches." I would resist and would say something stupid like "Naaa. I don't think they have good personalities." Anyway I ended up getting 2. I feel in love with them and have added 3 more to get my total up to 5. I can't get enough of them

Any of you have a similar experience??

Loaches will definitely grow on you. Glad to see you tried them out.

Jags are not only smart, but they have great color and personality. Next try a Motaguense. I'm working on a juvenile.

the only thing that I have never wanted but ended up with was two big jags. both 10" or bigger. I had tankspace at the time and thought ok I'll break down and buy them. I got them home and they worked about pretty good. but then I had to take a tank down and they had to go. someday I'll get some more but for now they are history.
