I rlly hope it doesnt get to the point we genetically pick our fish's looks ill be so depressed....I will probly end up hating some of the posibilities big time like i dont want geneticallt altered fish i wanna keep the original beasts we all love now not wht ppl will like them. I will for sure be a all original fish keeper. And dont flower horns look like speckled pieces of poop now?

It's already happening. See: GloFish.

Genetically altered fish! Artificial insemination, custom hybrids, line- breeding of true species! And all performed by the hobbyist. I'd love to keep a RTC that only grows to 12". Maybe spawn two fish that have never swam in the same tank or, for that matter, lived in the same country. Hmmm, the possibilities are endless.
Come on, you guys already get all up in arms in fish that are dyed :grinno:

I think they will invent a cheap way to put tons of pressure on water without breaking the tank, so we can keep deep, deep water fish.
Ditto! I can imagine people having these huge deep water tanks in their basements instead of flat screens and movie projectors. A tank with 3ft.gulpers, Viperfish, and monstrous anglers would become the home theater. Get your popcorn ready!

Sharks with frickin' laser beams on their heads. Every animal deserves a warm meal.

Seriously tho, something (filter or additive) to easily reduce nitrates without the need for water changes would be nice.

Well we wld but others wld probly not.... When im older i want to make a fish room or turn a basement into one!

Well, imagine genetically altering a non-hybrid specimen to be highly resistant to common fish diseases. Not that I agree with this ethically, but just imagine. Truth is, as it goes with human nature, what we can do we will do whether some of us disapprove or not.

Maybe all tanks will be made of some unscratchable, dirt cheap, sturdy, lighter then acrylic material.
