Really think it was overrated? I consider it my generation's star wars.

Put it this way... i would rather watch two 2 - 2.5 hour long movies, than to wait for three, 1 - 1.5 hour long movies...
Hell i even watched Steven Kings Rose Red, and that was like a 4 - 4.5 hour long movie...

Exactly! 3 is too much waiting. I can't wait to see it and don't want to have to wait 3years to see the whole thing. If he does do 3 separate segments I hope they have every major event from the book.

Super excited about the movie ! But I agree with the rest. 3 movies will feel too much, 2 would have been good enough. But on wells, I love middle earth and PJ. I just wished he didn't choose the hobbit, he could have gone with tolkiens other books, like the children of Hurin. Much more epic ! The hobbit seems like a child's novel to me.

I can see how epic they were, but things just fell short for me as they kept making them. First one was best
But they can't compare to star wars. Parts 4,5,6. Not 123
Prequels weren't as good
1, 2, and 3 will never live up to 4, 5, and 6. And don't even get me started on the Clone Wars.... Ugh! Worst Star Wars EVER!!
I could almost be considered to be a Star Wars equivalent to a Trekky,just wondering,what was so bad about Clone Wars?

The Clone Wars happened between ep's 2 and 3. Anakin was well into his decline at the end of 2 and completed it in 3. In the Clone Wars, he is this happy-go-lucky don't-give-a-damn stand up guy. And he's got an apprentice. *facepalm* TOTALLY betrayed Anakin's character and his fall in that movie.
I mean, as a story taking place in the Star Wars universe, its a good movie/show. But it doesn't belong in the main story with those characters. IMO
