Rob, not every silurus from greece is S. Aristoteles. They come from only the
aspropotamus basin AFAIK. One of our greek members has one he says is a glanis.

Indeed; my map even shows that the northern part of Greece is home to S. glanis.

There is significant overlap of species in this clade. I wouldn't be surprised to learn of naturally occurring hybrids as well. Please take my previous post with a grain of salt; it was dramatically oversimplified.

a much needed update on the guys and hopefully the pictures will upload not much for growth since the last time maybe an inch for the goonch and not much on the fila the wels has grown alot though and both are getting to the point where the tank will be outgrown and my landlord said no to an upgrade so they will be for sale by the summer probably the goonch are doing well the sp china is the most aggressive catfish i've ever had though killed quit a few fish over the past few months did add a vulture catfish that seems to be holding its own a few nicks and scratches but nothing major the red river sp doesn't look much if at all different from an hlg or llg it is more active than any other goonch i've had though and the other goonch in the same tank with it has the normal behavior i've observed in the past here is the goonch that died in this group originally I thought the red river killed it because I noticed teeth marks around the head and saw it being chased by the red river that day could also be because this guy was very skinny was eating a little bit for the first few days after i got them but never gained any mass and died before the end of the first week

Man some beautiful cats you got there. All I have is Albino channel cat, a 4 line pictus a spotted pictus and a few rapheals lol. Hope all works well man. Someday when I get my monster built I will have some of the big guys.
 
thank you when I get my own house in the next few years I have plans for a dedicated fishroom and a pond but for now the 240 anda 70 are all my landlord will allow
