How'd the netting/transfer go? Every time I've netted mine his pectorals got all torn up and his spines have gone right through the net.

fine this time, he was living in half clay pipe so pulled back then snagged him, no damage this time!-) into the 35 for a few days so i can watch what he eats then place it in his cave back in the 300!-)

So 2" a year is a good estimation. But i guess as with all fish there growth slows down as they get bigger. But hey, keep him for another 5-10 years and youll have a 2'er in no time...

lol you gone big daddy with those ripsaw lovely's, the reason i got irwini is due to a 3ft ripsaw that lives in a 7x7x2.5 at ma lfs, awesome beasts. i know im not dedicated enough to keep one long term tho, hope my irwini can have half the personality of a ripsaw!-)

Mine is still around 4.5". I still have yet to see him eat anything. I even put food at his face and nothing.
