The need to make room shuffle.

I suspected the paw prints from day one..... Not exactly my cup of tea but as long as he makes Jarbles I don't care.... lol

JimR pup-

Post 1- pic2 ray on top

Post 3- Pic 1 far left.

Still have one of his breeders but she's up for sale now..... See classifieds. :(

damn hoarder lol

kinda seems like the opposite of a hoarder as many times as some of his rays have been listed for sale. a true hoarder would never under any circumstance part with any of thier collection.

Looks like i'm the lone ranger on hoarding marbles lol. i'll stick with my beauties, as 3 of them look as good/better than some/most pearls :)

BEAUTIES DB. went to the dark side.... we lost another to the blackies lol.

I've wanted black rays since I began looking at them months before the ban.

I don't expect you to understand what I've been through with Marbles. But IF you had to go through what I did to get yours you would have switcheed to blacks a long time ago.

I HAVE paid black money for mine, NOT cheap black ray $ either. Then when I bred them people wanted to pay the same price as you paid for your wild caughts.

If your spending black ray money why not get black ray pup returns rather then just a small fraction of that. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I'm in this for the money but when the sad reality sets in it's painfully obvious that my case of marblism waa just full of poor decisions.

I'm content with my Marble collection, after years of study, research, trial and error, I'm now about as close to confident in my systems as I'm gonna get, so now I'm ready to see what else is out there...... The grass looks greener and variety is a spice of life.

It's great to see your collection expanding more and more each month! You def have some happy rays, especially the ones in the 750

Are you looking to start breeding crazy hybrids? :-)

You have a great MM collection that any one would be proud to have. Price should not be the determining factor as to what species of ray you keep.

Price should not be the determining factor as to what species of ray you keep.

Is that right?

Lemme toss a few thoughts out there-

I have always taken pride in my abilities to provide my rays with a good home. First thing I learned was that you need to eliminate doubt. To do this you must overkill EVERYTHING. Filtration, WCs, tank sizes, and food. This costs money.

Anyone keeping rays knows that IF you're keeping them properlly they breed. This returns some of the redicolus costs of keeping rays.

I have a water bill that has been close to 20,000 gallons a month. I feed close to 2 pounds of food per day. My electricity bill is $350+/month.

Why does all this matter? Cause as a room mate if you don't pay your rent you get kicked out.

I don't like going to work everyday, but guess what? I have to. If my rays want to stay at my place they need to kick in too.

Just cause I enjoy this hobby doesn't mean that I have to be broke all the time. If that is what it means then I'll bail. Rays is a game of balance. If you fall and can't get back up then you can't keep rays.

I don't make a ton of money, so I gotta do what I gotta do to stay in the hobby. If that means breeding black rays along with Marbles then I'd much rather do that then get to the point where I have no choice but to sell off most of my collection due to financial restrictions.

Price shouldn't be a determining factor but it's just like a woman's looks........ "shouldn't matter" but the truth is that IT DOES.

^^^^I agree with Al^^^^ I may not have a setup like Al, but i can def understand how many damn water changes i do, food, filtration, etc....

Rays and having the time and money go hand in hand
