the new triggers came!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
dude watch that yellow tang. mine has killed every single blue jaw i have ever bought :( the count is tang 4 blue jaw 0

Damn, that is interesting, and somewhat impressive, you would think that would work the other way around.

Yellows arent really known for aggression either.

i'll watch that one. it was a prick to my pinktail at first. it has killed a sailfin and a powder brown tang so far. hasn't touched my other triggers or my blue hipp. tang.

Wow, that surprises me too. But I guess that is why they say to always put the tang in last if possible.

i have read that same line with triggers awell.:nilly:

the new blue jaw came in! he is awsome! he started to come out of the rocks to look around already. nothing is messing with him. the yellow tang has flared at him, but he is much bigger then it so the trigger hasn't even flinched from it. i'll get some better pics after he settles in more. i'll also get a vid. i'll put the new vid in "the 55gal" thread.

tell that to my yellow :irked:
he will chase and tail whip the scapper i use for my glass.
he is very territorial

my yellow appears to be all talk when it comes to fish other then tangs. tries to be tough to the triggers some times, then the triggers turn to see what is the fuss and it runs scard.

behavor update with the blue jaw added.

just about every time one trigger passes the larger blue law it raises its "trigger spine" but doesn't fully flare. after it is passed and the blue jaw didn't make a move tward it they go back to normal. one time the pinktail started a fight and the blue jaw turned, flared and nipped it back and they haven't done more the passing flares since.

the pinktail deffinatly seems to be the more agressive fish of the bunch. it also was the one that took the most crap from the yellow tang and niger when it first got put in.

the blue jaw is just as active as my niger. constantly going from one side to the other. then weaving in and out of the rocks.

something i noticed is that the niger and blue jaw use almost excluesively the 'flapping' swim method, while the pinktail and humu do a 'fin roll' for most of their movments with some small flaps.
