Damn!! Any pics? Care info?

http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?451581-My-Texas-Cichlid

Here's his thread! He lived the first 10 years of his life solo in a 55g, then I was informed that was too small and he now has a 90g to himself. He's sprouted another inch or two with the extra room.

The one thing I've found about caring for him is he prefers cooler water. He's more active, more colorful, and just seems happier in 70-72 degree water as opposed to the 78-80 that most people keep their cichlids in.

The one thing that's kind-of sad is that I can notice him slowing down day by day, he used to furiously chase feeders when I tossed them in once a month, now he only gets around to eating them at night when they're easier to catch.

Going on 8 years now, hes a petsmart midas mix, he lives solo in a 110, I feed him hikari gold large, and do 25% weekly water changes anf I keep him at 78 degrees. Hes my first and original fish ever, and im 23 years old, he moved with me to my first apartment and ill have him his entire life. His name is sherbert and greets everyone by the front door. uploadfromtaptalk1377543306200.jpguploadfromtaptalk1377543339204.jpg

Have a shortbody gibbiceps thats over 20 years now :) I have only kept it for 3 years tough but it belonged to a friend before me :) But it still the fish I have kept the longest

My friends and i make fun of him all the time because we say he is hyperactive and may have ADHD but....

My giant danio, i've had for 5 years. The rest of his school died off...he is the sole survivor and the oldest fish in the tank. The only fish i've had my entire time in the hobby.

I once had a JD that lived for twelve years. A friend got him when I was in sixth grade. It was six inches when he got it and he kept it in a twenty-nine gallon with a bunch of smaller Dempsies. He gave it to me in our senior year of high school. I had it for another five years before it croaked for no apparent reason. It think it was either a female or was stunted because of those years in that small tank. It ended up getting to about eight inches.

I do not know how long my buddies cousin had it before he gave it to him but I figure about a year to get to 6". In know it was eleven years from the time I first saw the fish til the time it died. It was a beautiful fish in spite of extremely poor care early on. My friend never did partial water changes. He would completely break down the tank once or twice a year and start from scratch with no cycling. Imagine the ammonia spike a new tank would go through by dumping a dozen fish of varying size into a tank like that.
