I am not saying stores have to but if they have taken the time to import them and want you to pay the extra £ they make sure you know what your looking at.
 
Candid where exactly did you buy them I hope you got pure RD's as that would be rare. Our pure Midas came from Rapps and I am very proud of them. Sadly though not enough pep[le understand how rare it is to get pure RD's or Midas. Is there any way you could find out more from the place you bought them. If they are indeed pure I would be interested in some fry some day. A good store should have labeled these F1's if they are the fry from WC stock. Even having F1's would put you in an elite category. See what you can dig up maybe it will calm people down I for one hope you do have pure RD's.
 
Bill, the OP already stated that they were purchased at Big Al's, in TO.

And Bill, your midas didn't come from Rapps, it came from Don Conkel, or at best is a cross between the two vendors (Rapps x Conkel), which is what Ivan imported. All of the "creamsicle" midas that Ivan imported came from Conkel. I know this because I own one of those offspring as well - I actually got it from you. lol
 
Do you always have to be right RD forgot that untill you said it LOL.
 
Big Als Dundas and Kenndy are the better ones of them all but you can trust what they write. The always have "Red terrors" with a picture of festae and are always myans! I even seen kenndy lable peacock bass as "Cichla Mirinae" Lmao which is Fogo peacock bass lol
So if you want to get "closer" and I use the word Closer to real deal fish you have to order like I did many times from the U.S and also Oliver and Spencer have wonderful stock ( not Amphilophus) and are in Canada.

I just gave away like 30 true Midas juvies cause no one wanted to buy them lol
 
My experiences with the 2 BA's here in AB have been similar to Mikes. (at times)

And Bill, according to my wife I am seldom right. :)
 
It must be something in the water here my wife says I am seldom right too.

yeah the fish were cheap and a 3 for 1 deal so I bought them I will just grow them out see what they look like

I really want to order from rapps not sure if I wil get the devils I will for sure get his jewels no one else in Canada ever has any H elongates or five star generals

I want a red devil that Is deep red no hump thick lips and black like its been burnt for one of my show tanks
