The recession is over!

it's on the front page of USA Today also that the recession is officially over

PS. The comment above makes no sense.....recession has to do with layoffs only? It's the economic impact overall, not just the employment rate

I never said it did but image if there was zero unemployment in the the country, everyone would be buying and spending thus everything is thriving.

Employment is the core to a good economy.

i know but saying 90 percent of people weren't effects by job loss and how your wife gets overtime doesn't mean their wasn't an impact on the economy? my company froze raises for 2 years except for promotions. Guess since everyone kept their job we weren't effected? We still worked overtime though

Its the lounge, don't have to discuss fish.

Personally i graduated in december and there have been a few jobs coming up in my field (geographic information systems). But on the whole there weren't a whole lot. And the ones that did come up were highly competitive so advanced candidates were picked for entry level jobs. So i started trading stocks, not investing but day trading. Blessing in disguise for me.
