Thanks everybody. Was looking at old photos today and I definitely agree. It looks a lot better thanks to you guys. :) Polys are feeling good too. Just gotta keep battling with the hair algae and MTS, but the polys and everyone's support make it so worth it! Thanks for all the love.

I came home today and found my mom bought me a Fluval 306 canister filter! It says that it filters up to 300L/ 70 gallons.
Will this be better than my current Aqua Clear 110 HOB (100 gals)? I currently do 60-70% WC every 4-5 days. My mom thinks the Fluval 306 will be quieter and that I won't have to do as many water changes. Can the Fluval 306( 70gal) replace my AC110 and provide better filtration/less noise? I do not want to run both the Fluval306 and AC110 at the same time. If the 306 will not be better filtration than the AC110, please let me know! Suggestions appreciated. Thank you!

Tank is a 55g, but overstocked:
(4X ) 8-10inch polys,
6.5 inch albino sen
3 congo tetras (2-3in)
3 giant danios (2-3in)

It will be better. Deffinatly quieter. As Polyaddict86 Polyaddict86 said both would be best. Probably do both on a 120 ok too. As for water changes there isnt much thats going to help there, maybe more plants put some pothos on top of the tank growing out of the water. You've got plenty of light comming through the windows for it to do well. My wc schedule is every sat or Sunday 75% im at about 40ppm of nitrates at that time, after water change I'm at around 10. I have plants in the tank as you know and some floating plants and pothos in the "sump". I made a denitrater but it hasn't done anything yet. Water going in is the same level of nitrate coming out. The filters are designed to make nitrate which is why we need to do wc, or you gotta get something to consume the nitrate.

Agree i think you'll be fine with the fluval.

I would just put the media from the ac 110 into the fluval and not use both. Feed a little lighter than usual to account for the bb that already colonized the foam pads in the ac.

I think two of them would turn the tank into a washing machine, too much flow. I have an ac on my 75 and feel like the fish would not appreciate more flow than it already has.
