Just out of curiousity did you ever set the tank up? I know you had it for quite a few years.

On another note, is it possible to bring it in through a window? (most likely not being a basement)

as long as the wall to the basement is not a supporting wall tear it out and put a bannister in after the tank is down there it would also make the basement seem alot bigger

The basement wall is a load bearing wall. Running right down the middle of my house, I've already opened it up to 7' that's the maximum code will allow for two 2x6 header beam..

I've decided the easiest, cheapest, and least amount of work will be to chop the tank in half then Weldon #40 it back together while im beefing up all the joints on the tank. Final dems will be 15'x30"x24" still 500+ gallons. This way ill be able to use the pump I already own.
Step 1 is getting Weldon to my house step 2 chop the tank, step 3 build the stand in two sections, rip out carpet, bring tank & stand down in two section, glue back together and fill and enjoy ;)

5 ft. Is alot to just get rid of :( ...are u turning that part into a sump? I think u should listen to ur wife and get all 20' down there hah...ur pump should be fine handeling the full gallons as turn over rate is not as important on larger volumes of water. Whats the decieding factor on ur 15' length?
