The Worst Day Ever!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
What a ****. Could one of the big monsters have died without you noticng it, due to the cloudy water and fouled the whole system?

I agree with Miguel, one may have been dead for awhile and poisoned the tank.

Did you check the water parameters? Hopefully you didn't put in too much salt. What kind of filter are you running? That's a lot of potential monster fish, any plans for housing them later?

What is considered too much salt? When i suspect flukes i add 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons of water for two weeks and never had an issue.

and yeah i plan on getting a 500 gallon.

sweet you just purged the fish that would not have fit in the 500g anyways :D

Judging by the fact that there is a brown knife and butterfly fish in the tank, all the cats and pacu must have been juvies.

My guess is a 55g.. maybe a 75g?

uh but yeah no surprise it was an ammonia spike that killed your fish.

that is the correct amount of salt.

Ya PC thats fine (the salt)... Sounds like ammonia to me also. I am very sorry to hear about your loss man. You said the water Params are fine though???

So, why did you add the salt? Did you test the water?

Sorry to hear of your loss, this is why when I first see something off, I test the water first off and I do the water change then. I'm not trying to be mean or a smarty pants...and who knows it still may of happened.

Good luck, welcome to MFK.....and keep us updated on what happens.
