What is the worst escape that you have ever been associated with? I've had a few. The most memorable was when some schoolchildren took their iguana out to sun on a leash (i visit schools for the museum), and it escaped. Up a tree. A big tree. I ended up climbing the tree (40+ feet) after the 4' iguana, getting a special capture device on him, and then bringing him to me. Okay right? wrong! He got out of the loops on the device (the one I had was for alligators), and i ended up catching him with my hand. so i had to wait while they tossed up a ope and bucket to send him down in. There's others, but I'm too lazy to post them at the moment.

um was walking the dog on the common, and came across an iguana. as you can imagine in the uk this was a bit odd. my mum knew whose it was, they dont live too far away, but yea, it was a bit of a shock that it was there in the first place to be honest.

not a rept. but lost two silver aros till i finally bought some tape for my tanks.

here's another...I have a greenhouse where a lot of my herps live with some plants, etc. and a couple 400g tanks and some kiddie pools. So one day, (a warm day) I forget to lock the door, and some kid opens it (i let the neighborhood kids come in my yard. I'm "the animal guy") A few minutes later, like Noah just let down the gangplank. I had to resort to my netgun to capture them all. Amazingly, no losses, all the way down the last anole.
