There are some threads and posts on this site that make me feel terrible about myself

So its pretty easy to find cheap tanks. I bought my 180 on CL for 150. Built my own stand for 50 bucks found cheap canister at yard sale for 30 buck (magnum350) built a sump for 100. Did plumbing for 3 tanks copy off youtube next to nothing. Wait your time bro. Have craiglist on nofication. I have it set to 3 county around me. And my decoration is cheap with pvc pipe for hiding places. I dont want to buy expensive driftwood so I'm waiting to either stumble across some or find them at the beach or something. Patient is key here. Goodluck

Its all in the hard plumbing. I realize this now, that is what im talking about.

Are you talking about plumbing like this?

I believe bigrich545 now owns this tank.

When it comes to plumbing, and huge setups, the reef guys have us all beat.

You can check out this incredible build on Reef Central. Peter also throws in pics of some Bentleys and Ferraris because people ask about his cars. Spectacular doesn't describe his fish room/ setup/ house/yard/cars. What he writes about cost is interesting:

"COST

The algorithm that has proven to be the most accurate measure of costs for this project is as follows: Take your worst nightmare, double it and you are halfway there..........+1. I do not plan to deal with the inevitable questions of cost in this thread. It’s not that I wish to be rude it is just that far too many members equate success with dollars expended and the truth of the matter is that success is NOT measured in dollars and cents but in good planning, discipline, good access to knowledge and sound practices, phenomenal execution and above average imagination.....oh yeah, and demonstrated ability to learn! "

I think fishkeeping is done in different levels, and this thread demonstrates it done on the stratospheric level.

I see amazing set up like this and dont get jellouse, I get motivated ! Alot you can DIY ! Takes time ! I currently have a 180 with canisters on it. I was thinking of making a DIY sump but in the spring/summer Im getting a 300 and selling my 180 so there was no point. once I get my life together I will build a monstrosity... But hey in a few yars for now the 300 is my goal and it will be one NICE 300 !
