What up Gani, just got around to reading this thread. Wish the best of luck to both you and Gary. I'm definitely good for some fry You know me, I'm only a toss of a stone away.
Regardless, I think you guys can definitely do it. I think everyone is making this out to be more than it is, breed them and get it over with.
i think since the female is obviously 'understanding' that she can spawn across a divider things will work out. the male might shoot some blanks, but hey we gotta get the ball rolling.
i am crossing my fingers everything works out.
worst comes to worst we have my place to carry out the spawning... discus be d*mned!
Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. A few things I would like to share:
1) If Gary and I decide to breed the Beani's (hoping Gary has a male), the male and female would be divided. We are not going to risk putting them together without a divider. The divider I have that I designed is very strong have been used for breeding purposes (Umbee, Dovii - big aggressive cichlids).
2) Before my head gets cut off by the purists , I'm going to cull the fry if they survive. My intention right not is to see and test if the divider method would work if I eventually get a male Beani. Gary mentioned that his Beani has a different body shape and pattern than my female so that's a good sign.
3) If it does not work out with Gary, another option would be is to contact the member who bought the male from Rapps. I know he's in California too but not sure where his exact location is at. If you know who I'm talking about, please help me get his information.
