Please pardon my confusion...
What are these fish?
Normal phenotype?
Are they your “creation”
They are beautiful
Congratulations
These fish are Carpintis created from unrelated blood lines. The father was from a farm in Florida and the female was from Thailand. The male is pure blood Carpintis. The mother has the look of a beautiful Carpintis but is often sold as a “green Texas” in the Asian markets. It’s unknown to me if the Carpintis coming over from Asia are selectively line bred to create more pearls and body patterns. The most noticeable phenotype of my offspring are these big patches of pearls that are appearing on their gill plates. The patches are made of pearl and cover the entire side of the face. I’m excited to see how they turn out. I have sold more then half the group already.

Look at the gill plates of the bottom fish. Many have these full cheeks of pearls that are solid, with very bright edged outlines. These are some unique pearls. I love them so much.

And I owe a big shout out to Cooper’s Cichlids. My male came from him. He imported into Philly from a high quality farm in Florida. Cooper is a great dude I’ve been crabbing and clamming with for years. I found him on Facebook as a fellow cichlid keeper who then became a good friend. His cave of fish is worth the 1.5 hour drive each way for me just look at his collections of breeding pairs and insane species diversity. Keep up the great work in this hobby Cooper’s Cichlids!!!!!!!!

I wouldn’t trust the purity of most green Texas or “Escondido” imported from the Thailand. In general, If you’re on the fence about it, then assume it’s not pure, but it seems you already know your female very likely isn’t. Your’s looks atleast to be a Cyano/Carpintis mix but many fish labeled as especially Green Texas, from Thailand are even straight up just unfaded red texas with low %’s of amph and vieja so it can be difficult to tell. Your female seems to have some red skin under the pearls like unfaded red texas so that could be a giveaway.
