These fish are Carpintis created from unrelated blood lines. The father was from a farm in Florida and the female was from Thailand. The male is pure blood Carpintis. The mother has the look of a beautiful Carpintis but is often sold as a “green Texas” in the Asian markets. It’s unknown to me if the Carpintis coming over from Asia are selectively line bred to create more pearls and body patterns. The most noticeable phenotype of my offspring are these big patches of pearls that are appearing on their gill plates. The patches are made of pearl and cover the entire side of the face. I’m excited to see how they turn out. I have sold more then half the group already. Please pardon my confusion...
What are these fish?
Normal phenotype?
Are they your “creation”
They are beautiful
Congratulations

They absolutely are, and I’m assuming more often then not, hybridization is involved. It’s unknown to me if the Carpintis coming over from Asia are selectively line bred to create more pearls and body patterns.
