And just my opinion:
I keep an 11" or so del and a 7-8" weeksii with a 14-15" venezuelan pike cichlid. I know it's not a dovii, but it's a cichlid nonetheless. I've seen it on a few occasions go after the del (not as much anymore, just awhile back), and never once has it left even a single scratch. Polys are ay hardier fish than most people give them credit for. I've had my del survive multiple beatings, sicknesses, ammonia spikes, huge water temp spikes, and more. It's always fine after a few days. And I honestly don't think if the fish were the same size that the dovii would be able to do too much damage in a short period of time. Furthermore, I think a poly of similar size could also kill a dovii of the same size. Some polys are really aggressive feeders. I had an ornate last week kill a fish just as long as it and twice as tall. Almost got it down too. Just saying, don't underestimate polys. When it comes down to it though, does it really matter? They're both fish, and as far as the food chain goes, neither of them is that high up. Put them in with a really big fish. See what happens.

My odoe pike has been attacking my poly last year, it did no damage despite having a super aggressive attitude and big teeth, my poly seems quite blaise about it. Btw I had them together for abt 3 years and last year the odoe became a jerk for some reason.
