Thinking about a pleco

the L397 is also one of my favorites but I didn't suggest them because as you mentioned, the eggs, also I've never seen them for less than $150 locally
I've only ever kept one pleco and that's my L397 so I can only give suggestions based off of what he's like.

My GT lays eggs almost once a month and the pleco has never eaten her eggs that I know of. I make this assumption based on how long it took before the eggs disappeared "pre pleco" and how long it takes them to vanish since he's been added, and its much for muchness.

Although my GT is an absolute bull and I swear she never sleeps (I walk past the tank at 11pm, 1am, 3am etc and she beggs for food) which may be why the pleco doesn't touch the eggs... I wouldn't touch the eggs either if I shared my house with someone as moody as my GT :D

How wowzas that price! I'm in Tasmania (Australia) and paid $65AUD for mine a little over twelve months ago when he was about 4ishcm... Apparently I snapped up a bargain? I thought fish were more expensive here than everywhere else? Maybe I was mistaken..
