A friend has a big golden lab and he dribbles like mad, mind you almost all the time I've spent with him has been at bbq's at their caravan at the beach. Its not unheard of for the dribbles to be touching the ground when there's steak on the bbq!!

We have also thought about getting a mutt, and I'm not against the idea, although a lot of the ones at the local SPCA are staffy x or mastiff x kinda things which my other half doesn't really like.
Personal preference based. Most people prefer pedigreed dogs than mutts. I know a lot of people here who prefer purebreeds than crosses. Don't get me wrong I had a 15-yr old mutt myself (labrador, shih tzu and pomeranian I think) until he passed away a year ago.
