hmmm, so it wouldnt really fit over a pipe if vertical it belike cutting a pipe in half that way or ya mean cut it like a hotdog bun and then cut section out as needed to fit smaller diametre pipe ?

Post a pic of the intake so i can cause Intakes are different . With the aqua clear sponges stand it up vertical cut a 3/4" or whatever size you need slit half way into the center of the sponge from the top. Then just slide the intake into the cut slit of sponge.

Oh so ya mean like it just a reg sponge shaped as a black your using (univseral) or it a replacement sponge for sponge filters

Just line it vertical with the intake. And cut it like it told you and slide it on the intake. I used to get the 110 filter sponges and cut cubes since they are bigger sponges.

Oh so it just a sponge block cut to fit a intake tube basically .... Ahhh makes sense now lol..think I may just get a sponge filter itself there almost as cheap as just a sponge replacement
Yeah they are about the same I got my little sponge filter for $5 it's rated for 40 gallons

Ya I'll likey get a sponge filter anyway since I'll have a extra air pump as I wanna order a better bigger one 
coralife luft sl-65 woot woot !! Can get 10-40g sponge for 8$ or 40-60g for 10$ 60-80g for 12$ and upto 125g for 14$ or so... Figured I'd get a 40g sized one little bigger won't hurt.. Put it in the 10g till it "seeded" and not use the HOB so fry don't get sucked up hopefully I can keep A LOT of guppies ina 10g tank
