I'm stuck on the pond idea, I think I'm going to get a small landscape pond and drill it for easy filtration. Good/bad?

So I have it narrowed down, I'm gonna start building in about a week. Still sticking with the same design shown, just maybe not as tall, or I might make it into two seperate vivs. As far as the homeowners.............
Which one for now? Like i said, The viv itself will probably be bigger and split in half for 2.

Red tails get huge don't they? Like 10' or more? I want something thats going to max out at least around 6-7'
