Red ear sliders are illegal here but drones of them are sold by the beach every summer .

If the state ESP the FWC for once got its act together and enforced laws esp pet stores who don't comply and street animal vendors things would move in the right direction.
I dont see that happening as its just an ill run place but again I agree with you about buying licenses,etc but the irresponcible people laugh at this knowing the state is a joke.

So are you saying there are no pythons in the Everglades? How am I being narrow minded on this issue? Or how is the issue at hand narrow minded? If that's what you ment.

Its easy to rip someones ideas apart, but what should be done to cure the problem.


And yes the cold weather did kill off some of them but not all. And if that is your solution to the problem, who is being narrow minded.
 
I've never seen any and I go to the glades a lot but from what I hear they are all down south in like the miami area of the glades. I was just watching a show on this and it sounded like theres not much we can do to stop them we just have to do our best on controlling them, honestly it seems to me like people releasing them now would only be a small fraction of those in the wild now. I don't see the point in banning them, even with them banned this could still happen, and probably would more so cause then they could never resell them or give them back to the store, I can't believe FWC thinks like this sometimes. Just look, Piranhas are banned here and there are plenty of people with them and One person released them into a lake in palm beach gardens which FWC had to poison so they wouldn't spread. Banning these exotics would do little to nothing to help IMO, unless there were none out there to start with and even then the odds would drop slightly.

I suspect the cold killed close to all if not all. I think the survey comes out soon so we will see.Who knows maybe some lived but its been cold

Its still cold drops to low 40s tonight and again Thu .

Either way this state has to be one of the worse states there is when it comes to enforcing laws on the books thus preventing future problems.

Pit bulls are banned in Miami . So law abiding people dont have them yet PLENTY have them infact a mail carrier was attacked think lost a finger few months ago by a pitbull in Miami and the owner wasn't even fined even as arrogant as he was about it.
The man who owned the python which killed that little girl had no license and he to was not fined. The state is a joke and run by inept people and that is the real problem.

At min he should have been fined for not having a liocense but he was not later on he was arrested for selling drugs however not to at min fine him for not having license for python was unreal but TYPICAL of this state which is the problem .

U seem to be over looking something very important! Allow me to give an example....

I want to own a serval here in PA(were our laws on most animals are highly lax, unlike florida) but i need a permit. I have lookd into getting one. THe politictions claim its an easy task to get a permit. BS! it is a highly difficult process that would take me over 2 years. probly more than 3!

Now imagine the process to get a permit will be in Florida? Can u honostly tell me that it will be a good thing? Ur assinign statement of just buy the license, quite obviously is uniformed, and retarded. You have never attemted to get a permit have u? Try to, then tell me it would be a good thing
