In Australia, my mum pays around $1.38 a litre. If Theres 3.78 litres in a gallon, my mum is paying $5.22 a gallon. Americans have it easier.
 
I Paid 1.09 GBP for Unleaded petrol last night. its so damn high but easier than relying on public transport. To get to work by car takes 20mis by Bus 1.5hours on a good day.
 
I think that things are just cheaper in america, it seems in England we are paying tax on everything (like the picture before about 67p - over half of what we pay for petrol is tax). And I don't think americans are heavily taxed like the british. Though there are advantages and disadvantages to it both ways, britain has an NHS, but americans can afford to spent alot more of their earned money on whatever they want.

Swings and roundabouts really. (Not that americans know what roundabouts are :P)

I think guys in the USA pay more "income" tax don't you guys? I have health insurance over here anyway... tisn't expensive and beats waiting for the NHS the state it is in at the moment.
