My aunt & uncle live on the north side of Golden Gate Park... Now I know why my aunt wants to sell the house and move to Kansas City or somewhere equally as boring!

It was just $3.01 when I filled up Monday in S.E. Mass.

It just went from $3.01 to 3.15 today. Anyone notice how when prices fall, they tend to fall in small increments. Yet, when they rise, they skyrocket!

I think that things are just cheaper in america, it seems in England we are paying tax on everything (like the picture before about 67p - over half of what we pay for petrol is tax). And I don't think americans are heavily taxed like the british. Though there are advantages and disadvantages to it both ways, britain has an NHS, but americans can afford to spent alot more of their earned money on whatever they want.

Swings and roundabouts really. (Not that americans know what roundabouts are :P)

Our gas taxes vary by state, after crude oil costs, taxes are the second largest contributor to the price paid at the pump. Together Federal and State excise taxes on fuel account for an average cost of approximately 62 cents per gallon. , that's why if I drive 5 minutes I can save a dime per gallon.......the higher the cost per barrel the more money the Govt makes. That's why there's no politician lobbying to provide more tax incentives for new refinery's...
