Alot of people in this country I feel have forgotten that we (Humans) Domesticated dogs. These types of dogs (Pits, Boxers, Mastiffs, etc..) Were raised to fight. English Mastiffs were first raised to fight bears and lions in an arena as a sport in Europe. Unfortunately alot of people were raised in this day and age to accept that as the norm and that is what these types of dogs are good for. Does that make it right what Vick did. That depends on who you ask. If he was in spain in an areana killing a bull would you feel the same way. If he was in Mexico chicken fighting would you feel the same. Probably not, because a chicken or bull is not considered a family/domesticated pet and you are not emotionally attached to them. People say it is morally wrong to fight dogs because they grew up being taught it was wrong. On the flip side if you were raised that it was ok and a way of life to fight dogs then he was doing what he was taught to do regardless of what society says is right or wrong.
I was personally taught that it was wrong to fight dogs and I would never do it, in fact I own a boxer.
Come on guys you have to set your morals aside and see the big picture. We have murders (OJ Simpson, L. Little walking freely amongst us) and the government is going to crucify a man for killing a dog. I do not know about the rest of you, but I put human life above all other life.
