I havent been here too long but long enough to notice alot of great questions dont get answered at all. While alot of simple questions get attacked by a fury of 16 yr olds, who beat the pulp and commonsense out of the questions asked. One thing that bothers me about all forums in general, is the sheer amount of people with the most opinionated answers have alot to say and very little experience if any. Where as people who have alot to share with the world dont, probably because theyre so tired of debating with others. When stating theyre experience which often goes against the habitual so called norm. Forget what you've read, forget what happened that one time you tried it. Be open to possibilities and open to allowing others to share theyre EXPERIENCES. Almost everyone here is looking for advice and the best advice comes from an individuals experiences, not anything else. I have read so many opinions on here that go unfounded but are very well versed on the internet. I feel like I'm looking at lemmings, nobody tries to break the path. I have kept venustus with mbuna, I have kept CA's successfully with africans, I have put big communities in smaller than advised tanks for many years all examples with no death! it took years for me to learn, yes I learned the hard way but dont state facts as if you know when theyre not facts at all just general guidelines. I have had coloumbian 5 fin sharks live in .125 Salt water, I have taken the time to search for answers to other peoples questions in scientific resources I have bookmarked before answering because I also was intrigued to find out! rather than give the one guess I had off the top of my head. Either this site is too broad. Or people want to gain respect and look cool thru being opinionated or forums are like a trivia game and most people dont choose to go past theyre basic knowledge they already have, but somthing has to give. theyre are waay to many common opinionated answers to simple questions and waay to many good questions which we can all learn from, going unanswered. I already guessed how many people will respond to this negatively and not bring much else usefull to the table ie this forum

Sir, you could be this sites Neo. Please take your experiences and knowledge and share them with the rest of us and try to answer our very questions which you are referring too. Thank you.

If there is any site that does things out of the ordinary, it's this one. IMO, this is the only place where "optional" methods are explored and even encouraged.

I don't even know what to say about the responses that you say are opinionated..........an opinion is all people have unless it's a proven hardcore fact, which you're saying isn't the case most of the time. Your entire post was simply an opinion.

I'm kind of confused and my head hurts after reading that.

Why don't you suggest a solution. An aray of people answering a question with their personal experiences/links to other websites is a great way to find the answer your looking for, and that's what people get here. Sure there are some unneccessary "opinionated" comments, but for the most part the serious questions get good serious answers.

Part of the internet is figuring out and researching what people say. I think that if you do get advice you must recognize this persons reputation and consider the source. Example being who here would question Oddball? Or Anne regarding Bichirs? Or Mike regarding rays? Or wurm regarding spam?

"an opinion is all people have unless it's a proven hardcore fact"
Opinions are like you know what. Everyone wants to air out theyre opinions when usually the question asked for ADVICE, probably from people with Experience ie this is how it should read..."an opinion is all people have unless they have experience to say it's a proven fact to them" What I wrote was an intellectual and thoughtfull post, I'm sorry if your head hurts and your confused. By the way I would love to hear some of the 'optional' methods you've been encouraged to explore....

Why is it a bad thing to have a big site? Isn't it better to have more opinions about the subject matter that comes up than just a few?

I have read a few of the threads you started and from what i can tell you received pretty good feedback and advice... seems to me you never bothered to respond back to them... thats a little rude i think... especially the thread when you asked what frozen food to feed your Rhom..you know the best answer to that question is just try all the different frozen foods.. and try alot of different MFK people until you sort out the ones who have some knowledge and then when you learn it all you be nice and pass it on...

Actually if it was intellectual it would have had proper grammar, spelling, and sentence structure.
I think you're also confusing facts and opinions. People give advice based off of opinions.
As far as thinking outside the box, check out the DIY and Hybrid section:)
