This Site is TOO BIG!!

there should be beginner and advanced forums for salt, general etc ie the main forums, so advanced people can feel happy to go and answer questions for a half hour and feel good about it, while people with advanced knowledge can share with each other uninterrupted, alot of questions are unanswered I dont know why but this could cut down on the traffic to some extent, theyre are some sub forums which get so little traffic they are unusefull to the site as a whole. I mean if I can go to piranhafury.com for instance why would i waste time waiting 3 days for an answer in the subforum here? certain sub forums get very little traffic, I understand to keep the forum open to anything but many people have experience in many areas, why not cut it down to a few less sub categories? maybe more questions would get answered this way from people with more general experience

True certain subforums dont get much attention BUT just because a question gets answered fast doesnt mean its the best or correct answer. I would rather wait 3 days for the correct one rather than get an incorrect one faster.

Not everybody can be a part of every fish forum so its nice to get varied opinions and answers from various sources. I often see the same question on several forums by the same person. Its always interesting to see how each fish forum community answers the same question.
 
One lil' prob with having beginners sections and advanced sections, most beginners and intermediate aquarists would still flock to the advanced to get answers, or just think that they were already advanced in the first place.
 
Red Devil, nice lookin out, I noticed you searched my posts but I am not a post'er who is miffed because my post wasnt answered, rather I read the site day to day when I can and I see many questions unanswered for days and others clobbered with basic opinions followed thru with no experience to state theyre claim. ya I could answer answer alot of questions but I work 2 fulltime jobs and I try to when I can but anyways. Rally I love the basic grammer, spelling reply to my word 'intellectual' I actually smiled when I seen you changed your spelling structure just for me, for your second post! to accentuate your point ;) I think as long as 2 people speak english they can undertsand each other pretty well on that alone, but thanks for the heads up

i really do not understand your beef.... it seems to me if your not happy with MFK ..whether it is too big...or too small... or not advanced enough for you... then your not going to be happy no matter what.. maybe the two jobs are wearing you down and making you a little impatient and tired... this is a site that i think you get out of it what you put into it... it works both ways... we are not robots... we are all different levels of people from all around the world... with all different economic differences and all different ages .... that is what makes it so interesting... your always learning about fish... but more importantly your learning about life...

beginners vs advanced - - - they dont have to be labeled such, you could corral them by naming them 'general aquaria questions' 'basic knowledge questions' 'common fish questions' etc not to make advanced aquaria an elitest forum but you could limit users to a 50 post minimum so by that time they have the hang of the ropes and what questions go where
