That would work, upside down cats are synodontis BTWMaybe add a school of Congo tetras and upside down catfish plus a butterflyfish?

Are there any other fish aside from synodontis that can live an African cichlid tank? That’s my vote, but there’s not many you could do in the 29, maybe some shellies or caudopuntatus and possibly a small type of synodontis. That 150 could be an amazing Malawi tank though.
Depends who you ask, I’ve seen some other fish such as loaches and SA/CA cichlids with Malawi cichlids , but I don’t support that. I tried years ago with some luck, but it was very short term. The only fish I would recommend with rifties are BN plecos and synosAre there any other fish aside from synodontis that can live an African cichlid tank?
Is caring for Malawi cichlids any different from lake tanganyika and Victoria cichlids? I don’t hear as much about people keeping them than Malawi cichlidsDepends who you ask, I’ve seen some other fish such as loaches and SA/CA cichlids with Malawi cichlids , but I don’t support that. My experience with tangs is limited, but the only difference I found with the 3 lakes is stocking levels. But depending on the specific fish, Vics sometimes do well with malawisIs caring for Malawi cichlids any different from lake tanganyika and Victoria cichlids? Speaking very generally, with Malawis, it’s usually best to over stock, not so much with tangs and that sometimes works with Vics . But there’s a lot of variables. Are you talking about the 150 or 29?Stocking levels?
I was thinking of maybe after I set up the pictus/angel tank i could set up 100-125 gallon tank for African cichlidsSpeaking very generally, with Malawis, it’s usually best to over stock, not so much with tangs and that sometimes works with Vics . Your options are pretty good with that size. I’d watch lots of videos to help determine what you likeI was thinking of maybe after I set up the pictus/angel tank i could set up 100-125 gallon tank for African cichlids
