I've always been interested in Zoology and when the decision came for me to tell my parents that it was what I wanted to study at uni, they were not impressed.

You brought zoology into my household more than I ever could and even had my parents glued to the tv screen.

You made them appreciate and understand the multitude of species that grace the earth and remind us that this planet does not belong to mankind.

Thanks Steve for doing that.

The news that Steve had died hit me like a sledge hammer. He was such a charasmatic person, there was no way the you could not be totally in awe of him. I kept reading the news post to see if maybe it was a hoax, because I just couldn't believe that he was gone. There have only been three times that I have cried at the death of a celebrity: in the late 80's when Stevie Ray Vaughn died, in 2001/2002 when Dale Earnhardt died, and this week when Steve Irwin died.

Ironically, these three men all died doing what they loved. Stevie Ray Vaughn died in route to another concert where he was going to entertain his fans. Dale Earnhardt died racing. And Steve Irwin died bringing the wonderful animals that we share this world with into the livingrooms of millions and millions of people world wide. At each of these deaths, I could not help but think that God needed them more than we did. When SRV died, God wanted to hear some sweet Texas blues. When Dale died, God needed someone to drive His racecar. And when God has trouble with a big bad crock, who did He call up for the job? The Croc Hunter himself. God only picks the best, and Steve Irwin definitely was the best.

My heart and prayers go out to the Irwin family and all the people who were lucky enough to have Steve in their lives. He will be greatly missed by his fans, his peers, and mostly by his family.

Crickey! Crocs Rule! So did you Steve, so did you.

huge lost... i've been watchiing steve since i was 11 years old. i am 26 at the moment. every time i tune in; there was never a dull moment, always something to learn it was hard to change the channel on him. i dont think watching the animal planet is going to be the same. maybe his daughter can take over one day... =). many ppl say his death is unfortunate, dumb, i don't think so... he did what he loved the most. not many ppl can say that. i do look at crocs differently ... their pretty cool.

take care to the irwin family..... going to miss ur khakis outfit steve.........
