and the turtle is not a cichlid so when it starts to get to big ill just go around the corner and get another one

They are just worried about the well being of the animals. Just trying to look out for you. Would you not rather prevent a problem and keep all of the animals so you can enjoy and respect them in the right environment? I agree though. I used to be an impulse buyer. I would buy anything that was uncommon in the hobby just to say i had it. Now, I will never buy a fish without knowing as much as there is to know about it. Do some research first.
