Tig not eating

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Still no luck.....should i go feeders even tho the armies are in there and they have been off live ? :(
I know your not the person that would do anyone dirty but maybe sell at a discounted price and be upfront about him not eating. I don't think live is worth the rest of your fish in the tank. And once he goes live hell be even tougher getting him off feeders. Nothing you don't already know. Just my 2 cents.

I would but i feel like he would get stressed out even more from the move .....if i sold at a discount price im afraid whoever bought him would surely have a dead tig and loss of money.

If he passes ill talk to monster about it

yea that's the noble way to handle it. I guess I'm to willing to quit and cut bait haha. I'll keep my monster aquarium opinions to my self. Lol

If the tig looks healthy and has not lost significant weight, I'd keep it fasting until it breaks. As stated, even 2-3 months is nothing much for them. I've once fasted two 5"-6" jurs 6 months to break them. They got thin but did break after all and grew well.

Can also tie a fish like silverside to a thread and dangle it around its mouth once in a while or leave it dangling in the current overnight (make sure the thread is easily separated from the feed in case the tig hits it, that is the silverside is barely hanging on the thread and comes off very easy). Of course, the tankmates must be very full too.

Thanks for the help ive literally tried everything.....i guess im just gonna have to let him be and keep trying until he breaks .....this is very frustrationg especially with an expensive fish

It mostly happens with precious fish, it seems. It only makes victory sweeter to those who knows too well the bitterness of defeat.

Well, after this test and your ordeal with the PentAir fiberglass tank, you are becoming a part of the elite group of keepers ;) that is those who struggle and endure but remain in the saddle...

Wow i am literally having the same exact issues as you. I bought the tig the same exact time as you too. He got a shipment of 4 and i got one of them. I have my guy isolated in a 40 breeder alone. Tried live and all and no lucky. Im adding a circulation pump and bubbler for surface agitatuon to bring in more oxygen.
