Tigrinus broken nose, super glue repair....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Again, I don't agree on putting glue in there. Just leave it to heal and make shure it doesn't get infected. And ofcourse make shure it doesn't happen again.

Coming soon to a fish store near you.......fish "nose jobs"! "Just talk to our friendly staff to make an appointment." "We can make your fish look years younger!" What's next?? Dentures and pec implants??!!:ROFL::ROFL:

First off i know nothing. That being said, I have had multiple wounds personally that should have been stitched that I/we have super-glued. The worst being I had my lip kicked and split in half right in front of my lower left eye tooth about a 1/2 inch down toward my chin and we super-glued it closed and i have no scar whatsoever. This working for fish? I dunno, but I'm not against it honestly. Let me know how it goes man!

you're one mean guy, i think blood would not be able to circulate there and it will die.

I don't think it's a good idea =/

But heck, if you're gonna do it, make sure you post a video and some photos! =D

Play some Amateur Surgeon before you do it =P

EDIT:

If I was you, I'd stitch it up, so it's closed enough to heal properly, and then add a heavier dose of Melafix. Then make sure he eats lots of good food, plenty of water changes and all eyes on infections...hopefully it'll turn out to be okay.
Looks very painful in those photos!

me i would add some salt and keep the water beyond pristine... but im also always up for a experiment... good luck... document it well everything you do video would be best...

on fish i have never.... but it works extremally well on people... if you need to close a wound quickly you cant beat it... doctors wont argue it either...

You may want to use the correct type of super glue also.
"Cyanoacrylate is the generic name for cyanoacrylate based fast-acting glues such as methyl 2-cyanoacrylate, ethyl-2-cyanoacrylate (commonly sold under trade names like The Original Super Glue and Krazy Glue), n-butyl cyanoacrylate (used in the veterinary glues Vetbond and LiquiVet and skin glues like Indermil and Histoacryl). 2-octyl cyanoacrylate is the medical grade glue encountered under various trade names, e.g. LiquiBand,SurgiSeal, FloraSeal, Dermabond, Nexaband, and others. Cyanoacrylate adhesives are sometimes known as "instant glues". The abbreviation "CA" is commonly used for industrial grades."
Good luck and I hope the best for your fish.
