Tigrinus broken nose, super glue repair....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Went ahead yesterday, drugged him the whipped out onto my operations table but found no movement in his nose, so therefore didnt glue. Maybe the break has started to mend in the 8 days since the accident.

The gap is closing nicely but just has more of a downturned nose than before. Gutted.

If there was movement there I would have glued it for sure and reckon more than likely it would have worked.

At least now he's got less chance of eating tankmates lol. Poor tiggy!

I think it was a good idea, and would've worked if done earlier. Superglue is much less invasive than stitches.

Best of luck.

i got surgery and the stitches got taken out early....long story short the doctor told me to use super glue on it....that would have been sweet if it would have worked....glad its healing on its own though

First off i know nothing. That being said, I have had multiple wounds personally that should have been stitched that I/we have super-glued. The worst being I had my lip kicked and split in half right in front of my lower left eye tooth about a 1/2 inch down toward my chin and we super-glued it closed and i have no scar whatsoever. This working for fish? I dunno, but I'm not against it honestly. Let me know how it goes man!

agreed i got the end of my big toe sliced off in the high sierras, no way to get stitches, superglued it back on and theres not even a scar. my parents always told me it was used by hitler to patch up the german army (with horrifyingly good results). it wont impede blood circulation at all, keep it dry for about ten seconds before and after at the very least, and if you have any problems itll probably be from leeching chemicals into the water *shrug* but thats me guessing, ive never used it on a fish
