Time to try a wooden aquarium

Haven't posted in a while, other projects and responsibilities. Aquarium is still holding up. Fish are very happy, I havnt vacuumed or cleaned the tank in 2 month, just constant drip 3/7 days, sometimes full week, and magnetic glass cleaner. Over runn with alge. Never thought I would be able to get away with not cleaning for so long in a discus tank. I kind of like some of the alge.

Still haven’t vacuumed, or cleaned. fx6 impeller went out. So they have been with out a filter for 2 weeks. Not bad for a discus tank. That was my goal, low maintenance, minimal cleaning. Truth is other Im focused on other things, such is life. I didnt want to scrape alge off until fx6 on line. Rubbed 1/2 alge off yesterday. All the fish are happy!

Very cool! Just a quick heads up beef in the US isn't said to be breeding friendly. The hormones in it have been known to cause infertility in males...

Sprung a leak in the left lower sump after cleaning some time back. Skrew holes were just sealed with silicone. Bad idea! I should of taken the time to fiberglass them. In the photo you can see where it buckled. Forgot to take a photo after I peeled the wood off. I have since filled it in with blue epoxy. Next step will be to coat with flex seal. You wouldnt know that the glass in the big tank is crooked. Its off by 3/8 of an inch on the left lower side. I used flex seal to fill the gap, when the aquarium was on its side. I went overboard and used flex seal all along the inner glass edge. No issues. Stay tuned.
