Tinfoil Barbs

i had 3 with 2 oscars all from babies. they grew almost as fast as the oscars... probably just as fast actually. they eagarly fed off the top and ate any leftovers in the water and on the substrate.

At one point I had some smaller tiger barbs and a couple albino's, and to my surprise they all schooled together and they were all gorgeous together.

The first pick is just of the tiger barb varietys that I got back into the hobby with, the second is after the purchase of the tinfoils and you can kinda see them schooling behind Bert and Ernie. The chipped tank in the first tank was "free" and it was enough to catch the monster bug...

funny i looked at tiger barbs the other day and i was so eager to just get them... then i just kept thinking about how they get as big as pacu... 12 volt man had the nicest ones you could amagine... any way ... holding off..

The lil tiger barbs only make it to about 3 inches, Tin foils on the other hand can be MONSTERS...

You are quite safe, tiger barbs stay small (albeit fin nippers if you dont have enough). Tinfoils get big, but not pacu big. This was mine when I sold it, a barbus altus, rather than the schwanenfeldii (true tinfoils). Grow to roughly the same size though.

not quite as big as a pacu, but yes they grow quite big, mine are redtailed tinfoils and are around 13+inches, there greedy beggers but i think they look good,,got pics if you want
