Thanks. I've never had any problems with ich, so this is kinda new to me. I won't make the same mistakes again. I just hope it isn't too late for the juruense, but it still seems to be okay.

Good luck with it. I'm currently going through the same thing with my jur.

my jur got ich right after i brought him home just bump up temp to 85-86 add salt do a 20% wc every day repeatm my dude put on about 2" in a month very strong too but hates to be around other fish

right now, it's in a tank by itself. the temp is about 85 and there is salt in it. I haven't been doing a lot of water changes, so I'll start doing some more. it's looking a little better. I started the second day of treatment w/ Quick Cure (half-dose). It says it works in 2 days, but I doubt it will get rid of it that quickly. If I would've left it in the tank w/ the aro, it wouldn't have gotten it. Same with the black lancer (was in w/ the jar). :( I wonder if I'll ever see another black lancer here.

I`ve never seen a black lancer in my area , and i asked all the mom and pop stores if they could get one ... nope . I do w/c cuz i believe the salt builds up and needs to be diluted , but thats just my way of thinking :D my jur was kinda pricey for me so i didnt want to use chemicals . good luck

believe me, I hate using chemicals, but after 2 days of a half-dose of quick cure (as it says on the packaging), all the ich seems to be gone. I put some salt in the 40 breeder and bumped the temp a little, so I'm going to put the jur back in there tomorrow. it seems ok in the 10g, especially now that it's by itself, but as you know, it's a small tank.

Why not keep him in the 10g by itself for a while, rather than stressing it out and doing yet another move? It could be all the moving him around that stressed it out in the first place and caused the ich.

the major problem is that I didn't properly treat the tank w/ ich first. I will give it a little while for everything in the 40 to settle down since I put everything back in there and make sure no ich shows up. I know moving fish is stressful, but so is living in a 10g tank w/ hardly any current for a jur.

I put the jur back into the 40 yesterday and it's doing great. it ate right away and there is no ich on any of the fish.
