Filter Media: Pot Scrubbies!! All different kinds!! I use the flat green ones in all my H.O.B. filters... you can cut them to any size or shape. In canisters use the plastic mesh sphere type instead of bio-balls, etc.

okay so buy the bigger pot scrubbies for the hob instead of using the ones you buy with carbon in them!

I went down to the river and sifted rocks,put boiling water on them for awhile and put them in the tank.tried to get the bigger ones(i like the bigger rocks)i think they are easier on the vac.

Save food cost by digging for worms and collecting bugs. Hunting for small rodents is a plus.

Change water 20% everyday then you don't need filters.

good idea...Ilove to fish but i tried that and my gg wouldn't have anything to do with it,but my blue cat liked it.so i guess it depends on the fish

I feed my fish twice a day,100gal.20 inch gg,12 inch blue channel cat,10 inch pleco,6 inch bullhead cat...55gal tetras,ect.29gal2 angels...is this tooooo much food??????i try to porportion it just a little twice a day

I only said no decor, never said no shelter. You can find some cheap or free flower pots as shelter for your wimpy fish.

You can also grow maggots as fish food.
