try hypnotism.... a buddy of mine did it sucessfully by doing so.... basically you need to make a different neuro connection as to how you view cigarettes...... from "relaxing and cool" to "disgusting and deadly"...... he told me every time you crave a cigarette..... go out side and the first cigarette butt you see........ pick it up and put it in your mouth... chew it and swallow...... that will make you look at them in a different light.....

ive yet to try....:nilly:

My dad was about to pay for two of our employees to go see a hypnotist for them to quit smoking. The hypnotist claimed just under a 50% success rate. He did however say that the person really needs to be ready to quit or it never seems to work. Both of our employees stated they were not ready to quit and we never moved forward with it.

I am going to attempt quitting very soon. I have tried numerous times cold turkey with very little success. I am gonna give the gum a try.

It has definately become a part of my daily habit/ritual. I believe that is 50% of the addiction. If I was eating a great meal and knew after I wasn't going to be smoking I honestly don't think I would enjoy the meal as much among the other activities that I enjoy smoking after.

here is a good idea... add up all the money u would save in a years time...then think how many new tanks and fish u could have

I smoked for 14 yrs, and i got on the patch for 2 month, and i am off for almost 2 years. Its mostly your mental willness I think.

i started smoking when i was about 13 or 14 and smoked till iwas 21. Took a break for a year and oh sweet jesus i love it. Seriously jsut reading this thread has made me light up a cig. But yeah when i quit the first time it took me awhile mainly with help from my gf at the time. Her constant nagging and threats to deny me of certain privelliges certainly helped me quit.

Rumblesushi: i agree that cigs are the hardest to quit. I was and still am a pot head. i love blazing, it helps me relax, its fun, and it also helps me when i do work especially any programming. someone may argue that weed isn't really a drug, or that its not really addictive.
