i have 2 adults in my community tank they are fitting right in and with no hole in the head looking beattyyfull

While the Oscar can have extreme size, it lacks extreme aggression. I've noticed (while keeping an Oscar among smaller SA and African cichlids) that the Oscar can place a "police" role among the community, lessening aggression between the other fish. Smaller males will have a tougher time becoming the dominate male in the group as long as a larger fish is occupying the same area. Amazing fish, amazing personality and a priceless investment!

68641.jpgI suppose the old adage "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" holds as true with the oscar, as it does with any other cichlid. Because personally, I think this guy is awesome! But hey... there are so many kinds of cichlids to choose from, there's something for everybody, at the end of the day!

I use to keep them but they just create so much waste that underfeeding doesn't even help lol, when my 75 was being used as a growout and had like 20 3-4" cichlids it was easier to manage than two 6-7" Oscars...

I had my big girl 4yo in my community until she died recently :( Im one of those people, a well kept oscar is a must have here. No matter how many exotic rare and fancy cichlids i keep i need an oscar. I have a baby growing out to fill her shoes :)
