To ALL cichlid community tank keepers!!!

I had my big girl 4yo in my community until she died recently Im one of those people, a well kept oscar is a must have here. No matter how many exotic rare and fancy cichlids i keep i need an oscar. I have a baby growing out to fill her shoes

Yep, oscar, JD, RT and a rainbow cichlid. Almost never without an oscar.

There is something about adult oscar I don't like. Either it is too common and people are trading in their over grown oscar to LFS that are not in the best condition, or I don't like the face of adult Oscar. The eyes are too big and bulging, there is lack of hump and color on the head, and the mouth has strong underbite. Overall, it looks like a fish with retardation. This is just my opinion as beauty is subjective.

Oscars are fantastic fish. I've had several over the years. I have a baby Tiger I'm raising with a gold and green severum in a 155. "Ritchie" is just starting to grow (about 2.5" - 3") and he holds his own (and then some) with the 5" - 6" severums. Raising one or more Oscars is the sole reason I put my 155 together. Best "pet" in the fishkeeping world in my opinion.
