look a little closer! that is a 2 mpg vehicle if there lucky. anyone else see the air intake piping by the left front wheel?

Also Z Trip, i think you're a little young (no offense) to understand why people get mad when gas is $4/gallon. when you're living on your own and have real bills to pay, youll see how high gas prices can start to affect you. when prices for everything go up, your wages stay the same and the balance in your bank account goes down, i doubt too many people will go hug and tree and think about buying a hybrid to save the environment.

you gotta look at the real life aspect of this. its self preservation. and with times like this, i dont mind giving mother nature the finger

What do you drive Z Trip. I've seen you in some racing threads. Just curious.

Gas is so expensive right now because of several factors:

1) State and federal taxes total about $.50 to $.60 per gallon and there's talk of taxing the oil companies more. Whose going to pay for that? (Here's a hint: Oil companies generally make $.08 per gallon profit, so I don't they will)

2) For some reason, we're not allowed to drill in our own country for oil, but China is.

3) We are in direct competition for resources with eastern Asia, as noted above.

There's more but I'm tired.

i spent $50 in fuel clearing the back woods yesterday! could have done it for $10 before this crap!

gas is expensive because of increased global demand because of the growing economies of China and India. All of the United states could start walking and riding bikes tomorrow, the effect on the price of a barrel of oil on the global market would be minimal. take the bus, ride a bike, and walking will all be good for your body, the environment and your wallet. investing the money you save in oil companies would be pretty wise, too, because china and india aren't going to stop building more cars and roads (their populations aren't going to stop growing either) and the price of a barrel will continue to rise.

Get over it people. GM is proud of their 30mpg cars when Honda was killing that over 10 years ago.

We need to change. Once thats done, the price of gas will drop due to lower demand.

Uh... Try more like 20-30 years ago somewhere... ;) But hey you were close :D

I had an 84 crx that cleared 35 mpg and and 85 Accord that cleared 33-40 depending on road or highway ;)

Oh And VW was doing it before that ;) With the Diesel rabbits getting 50 mpg ;) As well as there little pick ups ;) That are still running and getting 50 mpg...

I am not sure about dates... But I knwo they were more than 20 years ;)
