evilxyardxgnome, I don't disagree with you on that point, but people keep certain fish for their own personally choices. It might be color, shape or looks. They may not care how agressive it could be in nature. I keep a large Vieja community and they still show aggro towards eachother. Just not to the point of killing one another. It is a way to keep a community of Cichlids without having to deal with total chaos. And even then it doesn't work all the time.

Keepers are going to do whatever they want to do, I know I can't stop them. I do and will voice my opinion if I disagree with it. Whether or not they take my advice or not is really not up to me.

Feeding live food is not a good practive at all. Unless you breed your own feeders, store bought feeders can contain diseases that you can spread to your fish that you are feeding them to. Also in my experience feeding live prey makes cichlids more aggressive then feeding them a diet of prepared food.

they get both. i give them feeders about once or twice a month. if they cant deal with a lil shiner and the disease he carrys. i guess ill have to get new fish... but rock has first dibs on their roomier tank if they croke.

Yeah don't think anyone saying none were males.. just informing some that females can get similar humps. :)

I think you should invest in a big rubber maid tub for your snapping turtle. They are cheap and easy to upgrade, your snapper is going to need atleast a pond once it starts to grow big.

You can find a somewhat nice clear rubber maid tub. Unless you want to be crafty and install a viewing window, that would be kinda cool to see as a diy.
