to Many Devils?

I love this thread! Those tanks are freak'in insane! There's no way I can house another cichlid with my Bit-h of a Red Devil. She stays in solitary for the rest of her life. I've got a 150 but I can't seem to get more than 3 cichlids in there no matter how hard I try. Someone always ends up in the hospital tank!

Awesome tank and video. I put it under my favorites.

I just went to the fish store that had some awesome looking red devils. After looking those and yours, I'm getting very tempted to try the same thing.

My experience with red devils was only keeping one at a time and he was a real b*tch. I wonder if someone else could do this, or if it is a freak occurance?

BTW what are you feeding them?

i feed them a blend of everything walmart has to offer lol i know ima get hell from yall but i buy a big bag of pond food and i get like 2 cans of everything els for chiclids...go home and mix it up in my empty n.o. xplode can and feed them about 3 lil scoops a day...i could throw in thumbtacks and they would eat it lol!

I think the key is starting with small ones and growing them together.. No it's not a freak occurance.. I've seen it done before..

great tank. I have read that midas/red devils are social in the wild and have seen pictures of tons of them shoaling together. maybe they are so pissed because everyone keeps them single they need some mates.lol great job.

Doesn't this really go against what the majority of cichlid keepers in reference to crowding. Its almost like they are frontosa in the tank. A colony of large, awesome looking cichlids with the humps to boot.

I wonder if anyone tried this technique with oscars?

Do you guys think this would work for 3-4 inchers to start?

Red Devils are not schoolers. Social, maybe. But not schoolers.

not schooling like tetras but can be seen in large groups.

They actually live very well in large shoals.
