Toni and Nemo my albino Oscar's

Also I was going to get a bunch of Java fern and coat my Manzanita branches with it.

I think that the oscar will dig up any plants. The java fern tied to wood would be nice. You could also tie a plant (using fishing line) to the lava rock there in your pic, the roots will take nicely. Java fern or an anubius would look nice.

hmmm, another issue --- silver dollars are plant eaters.

Well I did forget all about that part....Well snot.....

The Manzanita branches are getting like they were in the 55gal, a pain for her big self to get around. So wanted to make a soft way to slow the fish down, like the branches do now.

So they the SDs don't eat Java fern?

If that's the case I could get more pieces like the two I have and attach them there.

well, I think they eat all plants. Not sure specifically about java fern. Fortunately, java fern's pretty cheap, so give it a shot. A little green would go nicely with the colors you have in the tank.

I glued some Anubis plant to my background. The Oscars still shred them every now and then, but they are tough plants and they grow back.
I do have lots of vine plant in my sump, which seems to help out with taking nutrients out of the tank.

During today's water change I changed up the scale some. So I made this arch like thing the fish can swim under.

So they at first had to check it out. Toni came to one side, was like "will I fit" swam to the other side looked at and gave it a go, just as Catness patience ran out and she went thru. Toni goes nope and backs up.....20180330_142432.jpg 20180330_142710.jpg 20180330_142853.jpg 20180330_142546.jpg 20180330_142551.jpg

Been a bit now and they are all still tripping on the arch.....it' so funny!

Didn't take her long to master the "Arch of DOOM!" She learned to tilt to the side a bit and can go right thru with no problems. It was so neat sitting here watching her figure it out.
