Toni and Nemo my albino Oscar's

So Hotlipz is a cool little fish so far. Starting to show some personality, a true pig when it comes to food. She sometimes jumps over the top of Toni to grab food as it hits the water. She also gathers around under her with the SDs to get bits of food Toni spits out.

She tho does get scared easier like when you walk in the room, sometimes she darts to the back corner till she realises it's me, then races over to beg for food.

So Toni seems to be on some sorta food strike....... I may have by accident got the wrong size Carnisticks.....and it is totally beneath her to have to eat more of those instead of her normal three jumbo size sticks.

They are perfect size for Hotlipz tho, so she is digging them big time.

So I noticed this early on and was not sure what to do. It seems my Toni has a birth defect. She was born with only one nostril. She has the one on her right side, but the left side nope no nostril here.20171128_142157.jpg 20180327_110823.jpg

It does not seem to bother her, every now and then the sans nostril side puffs up a bit, but goes away in a couple days.

I was wondering if maybe I should find a vet that deals in big fish and maybe get her nostrill hole opened up? Or just leave her be since it does not seem to be bothering her.

I agree. I’d just leave her be. She is beautiful and seems to have no negative effects from it.

This is for those of you that have planted tanks.

Can I use this substrate, or would I need finer grained stuff?

So my idea, get bigger mother Amazonian swords, then some acrylic sheets like 8inx8in. Glue the plants roots to the acrylic using that fish safe plant glue, then place in the tank, with all them rocks on the acrylic sheets the Big fish can't rip them up, right....

The plants are 15 to 20 inches tall in a 6in pot, 25 to 30 leaves

I was going to get Finnex 24/7 lights
