Too Aggressive Firemouth

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
lose the firemouth. i had 2 at 2 seperate times. one time he bullied my sevrum around too much so that one went bye bye. and the second got beat up by my 14" oscar so he went bye bye too.

i find that it's best to lesson the agression as best as you can... for example. i won't put a jag in my tank just cause i like the fish. i know he will terrorize all of his tankmates. not get him, and not care if he kills my datnoid or EBJD.

so...if cichlids are aggressive, some of the death are permissible?

yeah if you don't take care of it cichilds are hit and miss some coexist others can't stand each other trial and error

Most lfs sell Scats. I thought of them because they are elusive, hardy, greedy eaters and I have kept them with all sorts of aggressive fish. Their are several types available. My favorite is the most common "the green scat". They are good looking fish too. Another fish that comes to mind is a clown loach. Just google them or search in this site. Other things to consider is the size of your tank. If the tank is to small, the fish will be in each other's territories. In that case you may be better of getting rid of one instead of adding more.
