So I have this 20 gallon long, and I'm thinking since I only have one tank at the moment, I'll do a nice community. You know, school of small tetras, maybe try Apisto's for the first time. Something peaceful and relaxing ...

Then I walk into the LFS and see this beauty with a hot dorsal fin unlike any of the four dwarves I've kept thus far (noto's twice, colombian wallacii twice, regani and compressiceps). So of course, I have to get it.

For ID purposes, I went outside for the natural sunlight so of course there is the stress pattern, but I was trying to focus on the dorsal pattern:

The funny thing is my da was watching me take fish photos out in the backyard like I was crazy, but sure enough he broke out his camera (much better than mine) and took a couple that are much closer up and in focus. Once I get them downloaded I'll add them.

Honestly not quite sure what it is ... sending an email to the wholesaler to try and track back a location at least.

Here's those closer, better pics that really show off that dorsal pattern:

I have no clue either, stunning creni though!

It came from your neck of the woods, I'm going to have to rattle some cages down there and find out where it came from!!!

That's a hot pike! Much better than westies :D

Yeah, I thought so too. It's a good thing those neons were only $.79 feeders eh?

Wow! Did they only have one? I want some!

Yeah, sadly they only had the one left. I was hoping for a pair, as it would make ID'ing it much much easier.

Idk what it is but it sure is a nice looking fish

Danke!!

Looks like a krib/pike hybrid.

Checked this last night and expected an ID by today. Nobody? I'm curious.

Might be harder to ID than I thought ... just got a response from Vin Kutty. He mentioned not having seen a dwarf like this in the US before. So needless to say, I'm super excited tonight!!!
